Yes. All our electrical installations and inspections are certified with a valid Electrical Certificate of Compliance (COC) in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and SANS 10142-1. We also conduct COC inspections for property transfers and rental compliance, and we issue COCs for electric fences. Where the inspection finds faults, we'll fix them and issue the COC once the work is compliant.
Our local footprint covers the greater Johannesburg area — Randburg, Sandton, Bryanston, Fourways, Randpark Ridge, Northcliff, Fairlands, Cresta, Linden, Melville, Parktown, Rosebank, Illovo, Hyde Park, Dunkeld, Hurlingham, Rivonia, Sunninghill, Lonehill, Kyalami, Midrand, and surrounding suburbs. Beyond that, we service clients nationwide — for projects outside Gauteng we'll discuss logistics and timelines when you call.
Yes. Current Connections is a fully registered electrical contractor. All our electricians are qualified and registered with the Department of Employment and Labour. We carry full public liability insurance and professional indemnity cover for your peace of mind.
Current Connections has been serving clients for over 40 years. We're a proudly South African family business built on trust, quality workmanship, and long-term customer relationships. Our longevity in the industry is a testament to the quality of our work and the loyalty of our clients.
For our existing clients and regular maintenance customers we prioritise urgent repairs — a fault that leaves you without power, a tripping earth leakage, or a non-functional distribution board is something we'll fit in as quickly as possible, usually the same day in the greater Johannesburg area. For new clients we'll confirm response times when you call. If something is unsafe — sparks, smoke, or a burning smell — isolate the circuit or switch off the main breaker and call us immediately; we'll talk you through what to do and get to you as fast as we can.
Yes. Solar installations are among our most requested services. We design and install grid-tied, off-grid, hybrid and backup solutions tailored to your property and budget — from keeping essential circuits running during load shedding to a full system that can carry most of a home or business's load. We handle the entire process from consultation and design to installation and commissioning, and every system is issued with a COC. As a Herholdt's Premium Partner we specify Tier-1 equipment, and we'll give you an honest view of payback periods before you spend.
Yes. We offer scheduled electrical maintenance plans for commercial properties, body corporates, industrial facilities, and residential estates. Yes. We supply and install smart and conventional meters for body corporates, estate managers, and commercial property owners — including sub-metering for individual units and bulk meters for common areas. Where prepaid is the right fit, we install the prepaid meters and a trusted third party manages them.
Yes. We work across all sectors — residential homes and complexes, commercial businesses, industrial facilities, factories, body corporates, estates, and municipal clients. Our team has the experience and qualifications to handle projects of any scale, from a single socket replacement to a complete factory electrical installation.
Yes. For our existing clients and maintenance contract customers we do offer after-hours assistance when needed. Call us on 082 442 2128 and we'll do our best to help — we understand that electrical problems don't always keep office hours, and for clients who have an ongoing relationship with us we'll prioritise urgent call-outs to restore your power and keep you safe.
The COC inspection fee is R5,000 incl. VAT for a standard property, depending on the size and complexity of the property. This is the initial inspection fee — if the inspection finds faults, the repairs are quoted separately. Contact us for a firm quote.
We charge a call-out fee of R977.50 incl. VAT to come out and assess the work required. If you approve the work, the call-out fee is deducted from your final invoice. A qualified electrician will visit your property, assess the requirements, and provide a detailed written quote. For straightforward work, we can often provide a quote over the phone. Contact us to arrange a call-out.
