Solar Installations

Solar is scoped on data, not on a sales pitch. Before we quote, we work through your last 12 months of municipal consumption, do a site survey, and look at your load profile — which circuits are critical, what runs at night, and how deep you want to go into battery storage. The system we design follows from that, not the other way round.

The right solution depends on your goal. A grid-tied system exports excess solar to offset your municipal bill. An off-grid system runs the property independently of the grid. A hybrid system combines solar and battery storage to work through outages while still keeping the grid as a safety net. And a backup solution keeps the essentials running during load shedding. Most installations are a blend — we'll work through which fits your property and your budget.

Being a Herholdt's Premium Partner means we specify and supply through their distribution network, which gives us access to proper Tier-1 panels and inverters and the warranty support that comes with them. That matters whether the system is on a home roof or a factory roof — a failed inverter isn't a weekend DIY job, it's a supply-chain exercise. We also install the monitoring and reporting so you can see what the system is doing from your phone.

We're honest about payback periods. Solar is an infrastructure investment, not a magic switch. Depending on your tariff and how much of your consumption happens in daylight, most clients see payback in the 3 to 6 year range, and the battery component is about helping with peak shaving and back up during outages. We'll show you the numbers either way — if the project doesn't make sense, we'll tell you before you spend.

Every installation is done to SANS 10142-1, issued with a COC, and handed over with training on how the system behaves in each of the load shedding stages.
